People Helping People Scam Exposed!

Here we go again! All the former Excel Telecom retreads are trying to do it again. People Helping People is a scam based out of Charlotte, NC. They are touting the fact that there is about to be a major shift in the wireless industry. Going from the traditional 2 year contract plan, to the prepaid wireless plans like in Europe and Asia. Team Global Group, that was formelly involved in a huge scam with Buzzirk mobile, and Zero 1 Mobile, will be launching this new scam, People Helping People in April 2010.

Here's how it works. You pay $39.99 per month for the Pre-Paid Wireless Plan (Sprint is coming out with a pre-paid wireless plan for $29.99 per month, and the other major carriers will do the same). The $39.99 per month will give a pre-paid plan, but will also get you a cheap replicated website. Every time you sign someone up to go underneath you, you get a whopping, life changing $1.00 per month from their pre-paid wireless plan. If you choose to come in and pay an intitial $99.95, you will get a dream making, $2.00 per month from every representative you sign up and they sign up. This is your typical MLM scam. There is nothing special about the phones, in fact, they are fairly plain flip phones. The network has many problems such as, dropped calls, and very poor coverage area.

If you want my opinion, stay as far away from this scam as you can. It's goin nowhere, and you will lose money. Once again, the only people that will make money are the people at the top of this pyramid.

  1. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Your explanation of the compensation plan, the cost of entry, cost of phone service, and how Global Group was "involved" with an MLM scam are so far off base, it's scary. What's worse, people who don't know any better may believe you, because they are unaware of how uninformed you are. Where do you go to verify your "facts?" You sound like a person telling a story from his uncle's cousin's southern auntie. Please check your facts before spreading your poison.

  2. I will have to agree with Judy. First off, our plans are in three levels, second off, you dont get a set $1.00 when you sign someone up, third, the plans include things that the "29.99" plan would never include, fourth, they are offering at least 6 blackberry phones ( a far cry from "plain flip phones" if you have every owned a blackberry...which I do), fifth, it is based on a matrix...do you even know how that works, I would say 90% of people have NO clue how a matrix is calculated or worked.

So, maybe you should just talk to the person who introduced you to PHP and apologize. Then you should see what the company is offering, how about get on a webinar, or a call? Or is that too below you? MLM has been the start of hundreds of companies. To be specific, Cingular when first started was actually offered as a part of a product line with a MLM company. I HAD ONE! All through High School and first year of college.

SO please sir, get off your high horse, you dont have to work 60 hours a week at $9.00/hr for 50 years to make money! If you are that kind of person, please dont speak, you are tainting this forum!

  6. It really amazes me that the same people get suckered on these things every time. I truly like MLM and companies like this one make it hard on the rest of us. First of all, as mentioned above, you can get the same plans from various companies for 30-45 dollars per month. Straght Talk at Walmart is $45 per month with unlimited voice, text, and data. No credit check, no contract. Plus it uses the much touted Verizon Wireless network! And there are others like Page Plus, Cricket, Metro PCS, Boost, Cleartalk, Flat Wireless, and on and on... There is no major paradigm shift here, its been going on for years! Go to Ebay, check out the phone models PHPICO offers and you'll see that they are marked up as much as $250. Whose network do you use guys? How about that mystery autoship for $30 a month? How about those commissions you keep promising to pay out? The sad truth is that you prey on uninformed people to line your pockets with elaborate scams. And you dont even have to be that good because your website and back office look like crap. And who are you? Your "leaders" are pathetic and have no verifiable background in MLM. Most likely you'll skip out one day soon on your wireless reseller account and leave all the billy bobs with a paper weight. My advice to all: CALL YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY TODAY. VISA/MC WILL REVERSE THAT $49.99 CHARGE DURING THE FIRST 60 DAYS. THESE GUYS ARE DEFINITELY ON A NO RECOURSE ACCOUNT WHICH MEANS THEY CANNOT DISPUTE YOUR DISPUTE. FYI, this is a UTAH corporation like all the rest.

  7. I can't believe you complain about companies like that when you're involved with primerica. I was thinking of buying your book until I learned that.
This company also has a very bad reputation and the problem I have is it's one thing if someone selling energy drinks or vitamins don't know everything about their product it's another thing when people not properly trained are advising people on their money, sometimes their life savings. Primerica only sales their own stocks and funds and I did make the mistake of investing with them, only my sep ira was set up wrong, this person didn't know that non spousal inheritants cannot do direct roll overs and it was nothing but a total night mare. Before putting down other people's mlms take a look at your own, simple investigations reveal that I am not the only unhappy customer.

  8. @Gypsy Fe, First of all, I am not currently involved in Primerica, and haven't been involved for 4 years, but in defense of Primerica, the company actually has a very good reputation. You mentioned that people weren't trained properly to manage money. I actually thought the same thing, until I've met, and had dealings with Merril Lynch, Fidelity, and Charles Schwabb advisors and realized they were even more uneducated about money than Primerica. After my experiences, I can honestly say that there is NO better outfit that you can take your money to, than Primerica, and I don't even work with them anymore. I promise you that the only one missing out by not buying my book is you. You simply will not get the information that you need to recruit the masses through any other source.

  9. I was at a PHPCO meeting recently, and instead of reassuring me this was a great company, I came home and did research on the CEO and found a pending lawsuit against Derrick Rogers (who is NOT the football star, as claimed...). He worked for an MLM company, Global Verge (I think that's the name?) He illegaly downloaded proprietary information that Global Verge had spend money and time creating, and went to PIPCO with it. What happens to all the PIPCO reps when the company gets shut down? And why doesn't Rogers address the lawsuit instead of hiding? Also, reps are being charged $50 a month for minerals that NO ONE has yet received, but they play a sad little video during the recruitment meeting of an Autistic boy who can barely speak, then miraculously carries on a conversation after a few weeks of taking these minerals. SO CORNY! I totally agree with Ralph - if you were hopeful about this being a great company with a possibility of making real money, I would be very cautious and wait until until things like the SIM cards are already in place and they bring down the phone prices. If what they say is true regarding the Matrix compensation, you can still build your own 29,532 person company and get $1 each per month.

  10. Well Mr 90 recruits in 90 days.... you obviously believe in network marketing or you would not have created this magical book that you are charging people to buy. OR is it just a bunch of crap stuffed in a book, preying on people that youy say will never make it in a company that you know nothing about... what MLM are you promoting in your book??? And Beautiful, yes he has addressed all of the IR's about the lawsuit. it is about a no compete clause, not some proprietary info you are claiming... its people like you guys that sit on the sidelines and critique everyone, then whine and complain when the opportunity passes you by. if someone offered you microsoft stock years ago, you probably would have found something wrong with it toooo.

  11. In my opinion, this can either make or break you. You have to keep in mind that you probably are not the first person this has been presented to and you probably won't be the last. It was just presented to me yesterday by my girlfriend's family member who is all wrapped up in it and if you ask me, a little too optimistic. I saw the concept behind it, which is exactly what Primerica was doing a few years back with a matrix system. But, the flaws I saw were this. Only the people at the top of the matrix matter. They are the ones making money off of everyone and it's for a reason. The people who started it, of course, are the ones at the top.
This is a performance pays situation only. If the people you recruit are not doing their job then guess what? You have to get off your rear end and sell these phones to make money. You're not just going to sit back and watch it roll in if others aren't doing their part. So, you have to recruit people with good work ethic and also with a large clientel in mind.
The "crunch" sytem they use also eliminates your possibility of making money. If someone for some reason is not performing well, they are eliminated and the matrix moves up. They say this benefits you, if someone above you is cut, and other below you, but, does it benefit you to lose money makers? The more you have, the more likely you are to make money.
Alot of this stuff is just common sense marketing. It's an easily exploitable system. The concept behind it reels people in and it's supposed to. But, the truth is, the only ones making money are the top dogs and they are making it off of you.
The other problem I saw. They are only targetting a small field of consumers. They off unlimited everything (text, internet and talk) for $89.99 a month.
What's the problem here? Um.... You can get a family plan through another carrier for less than double that. So these plans are not family friendly. They are only beneficial to single people with less expenses.
The other problem is the promise for better services. The truth is, if they do not raise enough money these services they "promise" are nothing more than a manifestation. If they cannot come through with promises of family plans, better phones, better rates on phones and better rates on plans then they will have absolutely no future.
Just saying from a consumer's standpoint. And in this business, if you want to make money, the consumer matters the most to you.

  12. I am a Individual Rep with PHPI and it is not a scam. We use T-Mobile and Verizon for our cell phones. Our site is http://www.phpico.com/bastean

  13. @Steven The only thing is, that you are paying almost double for the service and the phones than you would through T-Mobile and Verizon.
